Crys and JP announce that they are taking a break to refuel and reset.
Crys: Hello, friends. It’s the Write Away Podcast with Crys and JP.
JP: Hello.
Crys: I screwed you up by doing it differently. I knew I would.
JP: You did. You ruined everything.
Crys: I ruined everything. But as our listeners can tell from the length of this episode and the title, we’re not having a real episode.
JP: Whoops.
Crys: I got a few comments last week that were like, hey, on last week’s episode you sounded high, are you okay? Like, and I’m not. Everyone listening I think could tell I’m not. So as JP and I were talking, the last six weeks have clearly been insane, especially for me, and we have not been able to get done the amount of work we wanted for the podcast.
After the insanity of having a kid at home last week, then he got violently ill, and so I lost more days. And I’m very close to my breaking point. So I asked JP, I was like, what do you think about taking like a month break so that I don’t have a mental break?
JP: And I said yes, because mental health is important. And you know what? It makes sense. We’ve had a rough tumble of a couple of months. And look, we’re coming back, but we just need about a month to get our ducks in a row, to get interviews lined up, and for us to give you some fun, quality content that we are excited to show you guys.
Crys: And one of the things, I can’t remember if I mentioned it last week, one of the things I’ve recently realized is that I only have five or six weeks until the kid is out of school for the year, which means two months of him being home full time. I don’t know how to do that with a six year old. A three year old’s fine because they don’t really like need much, they just need to play. This one needs to talk. Like I can supervise a three year old playing and still write. I cannot talk to a six year old and still write.
So I don’t know what December and January are gonna look like. January we’ll have my mom visiting and helping. Thank you, mom. She listens. Hi mom. And giving ourselves a month of lead time up to where I have no idea how my time is going to be is gonna give me a lot of lack of stress.
